The Next California

Statewide Election is:

Primary Election

May 4 - June 2, 2026

Candidates running for public office are applying for a job. Forums are like job interviews, and the voters are hiring. Who would hire an employee without interviewing them first?

The League of Women Voters has a long history of conducting candidate and measure forums. We work to provide a platform for voters to learn about who and what will be on their ballot.

To make our Forums more accessible we have moved to an online format, which is available live via Zoom and then uploaded to our YouTube channel and accessible online via the links below.

  • All candidates in local races affecting Sunnyvale and/or Cupertino will be invited by local Leagues to participate in LWV Candidate Forums.
  • However, not every local race will have a Candidate Forum:
  • The rules of the League of Women Voters require that a Candidate Forum may be held only if:
  • At least two candidates are running for the office
  • At least two candidates are present at the Forum

Unfortunately, we were unable to schedule forums for Congressional District 17 or County District Attorney.
For Assembly District 26, there are only 2 candidates, so they will both move on to the general election.
We hope to hold candidate forums for these offices for the November election.

  • Bookmark this page and check back again for updates on when Candidate and Measure Forums will be held and posted online.
  • To link in to a live online Forum you must register.
  • Links to video uploads after the events will be posted here as they become available.
