LWV Forums

Who would hire an employee without interviewing them first? Candidates running for public office are applying for a job. Forums are like job interviews, and the voters are the ones hiring.

The League of Women Voters has a long history of conducting Forums. We work to provide a platform for voters to learn about who and what will be on their ballot.

To make our Forums more accessible we have moved to an online format, which is available live via Zoom and then uploaded to our YouTube channel and accessible online via the links below.

Races Specific to Cupertino and Sunnyvale, California

Can't find a Forum for an office on your Ballot?

Not every Candidate race will have a Forum because the fairness rules of the League of Women Voters require that:

  • a Candidate Forum may only be scheduled if at least 2 candidates are running for the office
  • All candidates in contested local races affecting Sunnyvale and/or Cupertino will be invited by local Leagues to participate in LWV Candidate Forums. The candidates must agree on a date and time.
  • a scheduled Forum can be held only if at least 2 candidates are present
