Each election, the League of Women Voters of California analyzes all statewide ballot measures and makes recommendations for voters. We call this Vote with the League. Vote with the League for the March 2024 Primary election is now available to California voters. Please take some time to review this and share with your friends or family.

The California Primary begins in February!
Candidate Forums and Other Resources to Help You Get Ready:
Election Day is March 5, and you should already have your ballot - they were mailed to all registered voters in California during the first week of February. If you need to check the status of your voter registration go to https://rovservices.sccgov.org.
In addition to the presidential primary, voters in Cupertino and Sunnyvale will be voting for candidates for the US Senate, US Congress, CA Senate (Cupertino-only), CA Assembly and more. All voters will also be voting Proposition 1 and those who live in the boundaries of the Sunnyvale Elementary School district will be voting on Measure C.

The Registrar of Voters (ROV) will host an in-person Voter Accessibility Workshop on February 15, 2024. All members of the public are invited to learn about accessible voting resources for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.Attendees can ask questions and observe a live demonstration of accessible voting equipment. An ASL interpreter will be on-site to assist the hearing-impaired.
The Registrar of Voters works together with our Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee (VAAC) members, who provide input and recommendations to enhance inclusive and accessible voting for Santa Clara County voters.For more information on the VAAC and how to become a member, visit sccvote.org/VAAC.

Sunnyvale School Bond - Sunnyvale School District Measure C is on the ballot as a referral in Sunnyvale School District on March 5, 2024.
A "yes" vote supports this measure to authorize $214 million in bonds for the school district and enact a projected property tax of $15 per $100,000 of assessed value while bonds are outstanding.
A "no" vote opposes this measure to authorize $214 million in bonds for the school district and enact a projected property tax of $15 per $100,000 of assessed value while bonds are outstanding.
A 55 percent supermajority vote is required for the approval of Measure C.

To continue critical renovation and modernization of local elementary and middle schools, upgrade schools safety/security, improve access to technology, and ensure accessibility for students with disabilities, shall Sunnyvale School District’s measure be adopted authorizing $214 million in bonds at legal interest rates, raising an average of $13.2 million annually for approximately 34 years, at a projected rate of $15 per $100,000 assessed value, with oversight, accountability, all funds benefiting schools, and no funds for administrator salaries?

The LWVCS Board voted to endorse Measure C:
Proposed Text:
Measure C will allow the Sunnyvale School District to create and enhance facilities essential to an outstanding education for all students from transitional kindergarten to award winning middle schools. The district has shown it is a good steward of the taxpayer’s money as evidenced by its high credit rating and its successful management of previous bond programs. Passage of Measure C will help ensure Sunnyvale continues to have excellent schools that benefit the entire community.
For these reasons the League of Women Voters endorses the Sunnyvale School District, Bond Measure C on the March 5th, 2024 ballot.
Ballot Measures - ProCons and Endorsements
There is only one state measure on the primary ballot, Prop 1, which actually proposes two items: reallocation of some of the current funds counties receive as part of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) passed in 2004, and a bond measure to build more facilities for mental health needs and housing for the homeless. Join Mayor Mohan for a cup of chai (or coffee) and casual conversation about the issues that matter most to you!
Cupertino residents, business owners, and community members are invited to Chai and Chat every month which offers a unique opportunity to speak directly with the Mayor. Mark your calendar for a community event with Mayor Sheila Mohan delivering the annual State of the City Address on Thursday, February 15, at the Quinlan Community Center, located at 10185 North Stelling Avenue. The celebration is sponsored by the City of Cupertino, the Chamber of Commerce, and Cupertino Rotary. There will be a reception prior to the State of the City Address from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The State of the City program will begin immediately following the reception at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
