Dear California Voter,

All registered California voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot with a prepaid, first-class postage return envelope for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.

You have several safe, secure, and reliable options for returning your ballot:

• Mail – No stamp is required to return your ballot through the US Postal Service. Make sure your ballot is postmarked by March 5, 2024.
• Drop box – All counties will offer secure drop boxes to return your ballot. Make sure your ballot is deposited by 8:00 p.m. on March 5, 2024.
• In-person – You can return your ballot to a polling place, vote center, or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on March 5, 2024. Many counties will have early voting locations available before Election Day. Voting locations will offer voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, and language assistance.

You can also take action to ensure a smooth voting experience:

• Sign your ballot envelope!! It’s required so that your signature can be compared with the one on file to verify your identity. 
• Use the Voter Information Guide! The Voter Information Guide (VIG) includes important information about the U.S. Senate and Presidential Primary races and the state ballot proposition. The VIG has already been mailed to active registered voters and is available in several languages and in large-print and audio formats at voterguide.sos.ca.gov.
• Double check the address on your registration. To make sure you get your ballot, you can confirm your address at VoterStatus.sos.ca.gov. 
• Track your ballot. You can sign up to receive updates on your vote-by-mail ballot via text (SMS), email, or voice call through the state’s official “Where’s My Ballot?” tracking tool at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. 
• Make a plan to vote. Decide how you will return your ballot. No matter which method you choose, you can find tools to cast your ballot at vote.ca.gov.

The California Primary begins in February! 

Election Day is March 5, and you should already have your ballot - they were mailed to all registered voters in California during the first week of February. If you need to check the status of your voter registration go to https://rovservices.sccgov.org.

In addition to the presidential primary, voters in Cupertino and Sunnyvale will be voting for candidates for the US Senate, US Congress, CA Senate (Cupertino-only), CA Assembly and more. All voters will also be voting Proposition 1 and those who live in the boundaries of the Sunnyvale Elementary School district will be voting on Measure C.

Sunnyvale School Bond - Sunnyvale School District Measure C is on the ballot as a referral in Sunnyvale School District on March 5, 2024.

A "yes" vote supports this measure to authorize $214 million in bonds for the school district and enact a projected property tax of $15 per $100,000 of assessed value while bonds are outstanding.

A "no" vote opposes this measure to authorize $214 million in bonds for the school district and enact a projected property tax of $15 per $100,000 of assessed value while bonds are outstanding.

A 55 percent supermajority vote is required for the approval of Measure C.

Proposed Text:  

Measure C will allow the Sunnyvale School District to create and enhance facilities essential to an outstanding education for all students from transitional kindergarten to award winning middle schools.  The district has shown it is a good steward of the taxpayer’s money as evidenced by its high credit rating and its successful management of previous bond programs. Passage of Measure C will help ensure Sunnyvale continues to have excellent schools that benefit the entire community.
 For these reasons the League of Women Voters endorses the Sunnyvale School District, Bond Measure C on the March 5th, 2024 ballot.

League Day 2024 focuses on creating healthy communities, the inter connections of health and policy--facing challenges and finding solutions. Experts will define the interrelationship of social, economic, education and healthy living,  and discuss solutions to Bay Area health equity and inequities. Speakers will discuss the right to a clean and healthy environment where communities can live, work, learn, play and thrive. They will explore the impact of housing affordability and stability on health, and the environmental impact on health, exposure to toxins and location exposure impacting communities of color.  They will examine the learning environment, mental health well-being of students from cyber bullying to suicide and counselors-Wellness Centers.
