Join Us for the latest Death vs. Dollars Event: Nutrition and Its Role in Solving the Health Crisis on June 26th, Noon to 1:15pm


 

                             

Professor Robert Lustig from UCSF will present on how nutrition can impact both long term physical and mental health. County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors President Otto Lee will discuss the Board's work in promoting nutrition programs and resources. Speakers will be followed by participant Q & A. 

Board President Otto LeeChair of the County of Santa Clara Health and Hospital Committee which advises the Board of Supervisors on issues related to the county's health initiatives and services, including the Behavioral Health Services Department, Public Health Department and Santa Clara Valley Healthcare. Supervisor Lee has dedicated much of his adult life to public and community service. He made mental health and substance abuse a top priority in 2022, authoring and sponsoring numerous pieces of legislation that created greater mental health care options in the County,


Dr. Robert Lustig is Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology and Director of the Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health Program at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).  He specializes in the field of neuroendocrinology, with an emphasis on the regulation of energy balance by the central nervous system. His research and clinical practice focus on childhood obesity and diabetes. Dr. Lustig has fostered a global discussion on metabolic health and nutrition. He is the author of the New York Times best seller Fat Chance, on the relationship of diet and health.
