Election Volunteering Opportunities
Message from LWVCS Membership Director,
Nina Wong-Dobkin

Been wishing to be more involved in our local election processes??  This is your chance!!  2026 is a busy election year—we have June 2nd Primary and November 3rd general elections—plenty of opportunities for you!

LWVCS has offered our members (and their family members and friends) opportunities to help Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters with some election tasks since the November 2024 general election.

We will offer the following opportunities for our primary election in June and general election in November this year.

  • Drop Box Couriers (pick up ballots from an assigned Drop Box, transport them to the Registrar of Voters office in San Jose)
  • Vote Center Couriers (pick up ballots from assigned Vote Centers and transport them to the Registrar of Voters office in San Jose; our assigned vote center will be in Sunnyvale or Cupertino)
  • Coordinators for a Logistics and Supplies Center (LaSC) at the Registrar of Voters office in San Jose (stationed at the ROV LaSC, 8AM to 5 PM for ten early voting days and 7 AM to 7 PM on Election Day, coordinate and send LaSC courier teams out for supplies delivery trips to nearby Vote Centers)

Some particulars about these jobs:

  • All volunteers need to be age 16 and older.  Not required to be a resident in Santa Clara County or be a registered voter.
  • Teams of two are required for all the jobs (a perfect excuse to recruit a family member or a friend to be your partner and get bonus hang-out time with this person!)
  • Training is required.  Usually, ROV staff will work with our schedule and offer a training just for us at the ROV.  We have been doing this on a weekend afternoon.  Once you sign up to volunteer, I will have everyone indicate preference for day/time for our group training.  Our group training will likely be either on May 5 (Tuesday), May 6 (Wednesday), or May 7 (Thursday), 2 PM.
  • PLEASE sign up ASAP (by March 6th please!) with this google form  https://forms.gle/9YmPyGYcdmBaW7ZG8
