Sorry, But :

  • You can NOT vote on your phone
  • You can NOT send in your vote on your computer

If someone says you can, here's the straight answer:

There is a partly-computerized system called Remote Accessible Vote by Mail System (RAVBM)

  • BUT It used to be available only to voters with disabilities or military or overseas voters.
  • BUT: as of 2022,  under California law all registered voters can use the RAVBM system.

So YES, you CAN use RAVBM on your computer or tablet at home,  to fill out the ballot

  • and, IF you have features such as touchscreen or screen reader, you can use them to help you.
  • BUT:   (here's the partly-computerized part)
  • It's an application you download to a computer or tablet
  • You CAN'T return your completed ballot via the Internet ("To preserve  your privacy and security")
  • When you're finished voting on the computer,  as an RAVBM user you must:
    • print your completed ballot
    • place the printed ballot in the original Vote by Mail envelope that was mailed to you with your vote-by-mail ballot,
    • sign the envelope, and
    • return it to the Registrar of Voters in time for your ballot to be counted

 Check it out here: RAVBM.

If you are registered to vote in Santa Clara County, you can request a  RAVBM Ballot   starting 29 days before the election.
