We're the League of Women (and everyone) Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale, CA

What does 'joining' mean?

  • A lot of people follow us on our website, our Instagram , YouTubeand Facebook and by email Subscription to our VOTER newsletter. Sometimes they join us for events. Sharing information in these ways is what we're committed to do.
  • Many people choose to support the League of Women Voters with a donation , and we greatly appreciate  that.

  • The work of our local League is done by volunteers, who may or may not be members, without any paid staff.

  • Some people choose to pay dues, thereby joining and officially becoming members, who support the League with their annual dues and occasional donations. Their official membership alone helps give us the numbers for the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change.

  • Some members take action and become active members of their local League, like LWVCS. Active members join, volunteer,  participate in planning, and do the work of the League in Cupertino and Sunnyvale. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you get started taking action to accomplish our mission: Empowering Voters and Defending Democracy!

A Bit About LWV Finances

2025_LWV_Dues_Sharing.png

In the past, Dues contributed less than 1/3 of our operating funds, and we expect that percent to drop in the coming years. After processing fees, LWVCS retains between 94-100% of donations from members and friends.

After processing fees and sharing with other levels of the League, our local League, LWVCS, will retain between 16-18% of the dues paid by our members.

This is how LWVCS spends its income from all sources.

We have no paid staff, and our only permanent facilities are a storage locker and a mail box.

All our funds go into our non-partisan work of educating & empowering voters and the general public for participating in and defending our democracy.
