Voter Education

Since its beginning in 1920, the League of Women has focused on conducting voter service and citizen education activities. Among those activities are:

  • Public tables and booths where our member volunteers answer questions about the voting process and assist citizens with registering to vote
  • Online informative articles that you will find on this site, such as:

  • Presentations (both public and online)  that you can find listed on our Calendar and  on our YouTube Channel, such as

    • Information about Voter Registration and Casting Your Ballot

    • Candidate Forums where all candidates for local offices are given equal opportunity to answer questions submitted by attendees
    • Pro/Con Presentations where both state and local propositions and measures on the ballot are explained and analyzed in a non-partisan way
    • Explanations of issues that affect your voting, such as the Census, Redistricting, and changes in voting laws.

These efforts are funded by our Education Fund, a nonpartisan, nonprofit, public policy educational organization, that:

  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process.
  • Studies key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.
