Dear Resident of FUHSD,

Each of the following Leagues is covered by some part of FUHSD: LWVLAMV, LWVSJSC, LWVSWSCC, AND LWVCS.

FUHSD has made the decision to move from trustee elected at large to elected by districts. The first step in the process is drawing the lines for the five districts that will be created. It is very important that the residents have a say in how those lines should be drawn. The community-wide participation will bring about increased fairness, transparency, and ensure that districts accurately reflect the needs and interests of the people they serve.

FUHSD has developed a community based committee, referred to as the CTAD committee that will coordinate this effort and review maps submitted by the public. There are many reasons to serve on this committee some include:

  • This is a terrific opportunity to participate in a local government effort,
  • Help ensure the districts lines are fairly drawn for all communities within FUSHD,
  • Bring your valuable local knowledge to the effort, and
  • Build lasting community connections.

If you would like to serve on this important committee, please make sure you apply right away as the application deadline is 4 pm Oct 30.  Here is the link to the application:  https://www.fuhsd.org/newsroom/trustee-areas/ctad

Please forward this message to people living in the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) who may be interested in applying. Time is of the essence. Again the application is due by 4 pm Oct 30th, 2023.

Community Trustee Area Districting (CTAD) Committee On March 7, 2023, the FUHSD Board of Trustees passed a resolution indicating its intention to transition Governing Board elections from At-Large Elections to By-Trustee Area Elections. The transition will see Board members elected from trustee areas, instead of by all District voters. As part of this transition, the Board will be seeking input from the community on the development of the trustee area boundary map. In order to improve the outreach component of this process and to assist in the process of developing maps for ultimate consideration by the Board of Trustees, the Board has requested that a Community Trustee Area Districting (CTAD) Committee be formed to facilitate the process of gathering input and developing the draft maps that will be considered by the Board.

The Community Trustee Area Districting (CTAD) Committee will facilitate the process of gathering input and developing maps, which will then be considered by the FUHSD Board of Trustees for elections from 2024 and through 2032. The committee will hold multiple community meetings to gather public input. The Committee will then submit a set of focus maps to the Board of Trustees to be considered. The Board of Trustees’ goal is that the CTAD Committee will represent the diverse communities, interests and experience of the residents of the Fremont Union High School District.

The CTAD Committee application is now available on the Trustee Areas webpage: https://www.fuhsd.org/newsroom/trustee-areas/ctad   The application window closes on October 30 at 4:00 PM.
