Pros and Cons

There is only one state measure on the primary ballot, Prop 1, which actually proposes two items: reallocation of some of the current funds counties receive as part of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) passed in 2004, and a bond measure to build more facilities for mental health needs and housing for the homeless. You can find much more detailed and unbiased, neutral information in the links below.

  • Pros & Cons - The shareable PDF version is available and has excellent information on Prop 1.
  • Pros & Cons video - The video explainer is available on YouTube. You can also find the slide deck.
  • Easy Voter Guide - Our Easy Voter Guide helps the election make sense. English, Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese language versions are currently available at easyvoterguide.org. The Easy Voter Guide also has an excellent analysis of Prop 1.

Measure C for Sunnyvale Elementary School District

Measure C will allow the Sunnyvale School District to create and enhance facilities essential to an outstanding education for all students from transitional kindergarten to award winning middle schools.  The district has shown it is a good steward of the taxpayer’s money as evidenced by its high credit rating and its successful management of previous bond programs. Passage of Measure C will help ensure Sunnyvale continues to have excellent schools that benefit the entire community.

Pro-Con coming soon (end of the month)

For these reasons the League of Women Voters Cupertino-Sunnyvale Board endorses the Sunnyvale School District, Bond Measure C on the March 5th, 2024 ballot.

VOTE411 Replaces Voter's Edge

For decades, voters in California have turned to Voter's Edge, an online voter guide, to learn more about the candidates and measures on their ballot. Leagues in California have now changed to share a national platform, VOTE411, used by LWV throughout the country. Local Leagues will continue to contact local candidates to encourage them to post information about their qualifications and priorities. Voters will go to the

vote411.org website, enter their address, and see what's on their personal ballot. The site also includes convenient links for voter registration, voting options, and information on Candidate Forums and Pros & Cons presentations.

Check out our new voting tool!
