    • Advocacy for a League position
    • Urging action to affect a piece of legislation
    • Legal actions, when necessary

Note: By IRS requirements, General Fund donations must be made separately from donations to our Education Fund.

2. The Education Fund - donate online

If tax deductibility of your donation is important for you, consider donating through the mechanism of the Education Fund, administered for us by the California State League of Women Voters.

Donate through the LWV California Education Fund

The Education Fund is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy educational organization used to conduct voter service and citizen education activities.
By IRS rules, donations to this fund can only be used for:

  • Nonpartisan voter information
    • Election Forums - Candidate Forums and Ballot Measure Pro/Con's
    • Voter Guides - both online and print
    • "Your Elected Officials" contact lists

  • Building citizen participation in the democratic process:
    • Get Out The Vote (GOTV) activities
    • Voter registration events
    • Civics Education Initiatives
    • Youth voting outreach

  • Community Education Projects:
    • Events and publications on specific community  issues,  free of  advocacy for any particular bill or ballot measure, that enable people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through information and conflict management
    • Contributions to the Education Funds of the National or California Leagues ( LWVEF or the national LWVCEF)
    • Local Observer Corps at public meetings

Donations to our LWVCS Education Fund are received and managed by the League of Women Voters  of California Education Fund (LWVCEF) , a 501(c)3) corporation, and are fully
tax-deductible where allowed by law.

If you would prefer to use checks:

You can download a form by clicking the button below,
then print it, fill it out,
and mail it along with your check(s).

 Please Note:

If you donate to both funds, (thanks!)
please write/enclose 2 SEPARATE CHECKS:

~ One for the Education Fund
made out to:
"LWVCEF" (or "League of Women Voters of California Education Fund")
PLUS
~ Another for the General Fund
made out to:
 "LWVCS" (or "LWV Cupertino-Sunnyvale")

Why separate checks?
By IRS requirements, we now must keep
General Fund donations totally apart from Education Fund donations.
Thank you for helping us to comply.
